Cameryn and Charles celebrated their January wedding at Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress in Orlando, and the day was everything their vision called for. Sunny skies, a mild breeze, timeless sage green styling, and a reception that kept the dance floor packed all night. As an Orlando wedding photographer, I not only had the privilege of documenting every part of it, but I also got to come alongside this beautiful couple as they planned, helping them feel supported and heard throughout the whole process.
I first connected with Cameryn through her sister, who found my work and reached out about their engagement session at Bella Collina. By the time the wedding day arrived, we already had a relationship in place, and that made a real difference in how the day unfolded.

An Elegant Resort Wedding Venue in Orlando, Florida
Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress Resort sits on 1,500 lush acres in Orlando, just one mile from Walt Disney World. The property offers lakeside ceremony locations, landscaped garden spaces, a rooftop terrace, getting-ready suites, and a stunning reception ballroom, all on one campus. This modern resort wedding venue is full of clean lines, tons of sunlight, and luxuriously-styled rooms. Couples have access to more than 25,000 square feet across 11 event spaces, with complimentary scheduled shuttle service to and from the Disney parks included.
Cameryn and Charles chose this hotel venue because the property could carry every part of the day without compromise, from the morning getting-ready suites through the ceremony and into the reception. If you’re exploring resort wedding venues in Central Florida versus historic estate venues, there are some big differences. If a mansion venue is more your style, I’ve put together a guide to Central Florida estate wedding venues worth reading alongside this post.
Ceremony Spaces at Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress
The outdoor ceremony location Cameryn and Charles selected, Cypress Point, sits directly on the water beneath an open-air canopy with dramatic white drapery overhead. White garden chairs line the aisle with the lake as the backdrop, and the natural light off the water is soft and consistent throughout the ceremony. Other outdoor ceremony spaces include Oak Terrace, an intimate brick patio surrounded by tall oak trees.
Cocktail Hour & Portrait Spaces
The resort grounds offer lush greenery, tropical landscaping, stone terraces, architectural pathways, and a rooftop terrace with open sky views. The variety means you have countless stunning options for cocktail hour gatherings and portrait sessions without ever leaving the property. Some of these spaces include Grand View Terrace, which feels like a nature preserve, Oak Terrace, Portico Terrace, and Pool View Overlook.
Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress Reception Spaces
The ballroom where Cameryn and Charles celebrated, La Coquina, is an elegant modern reception space featuring soaring ceilings, floor-to-ceiling windows along the full length of the space, and cascading chandeliers throughout. The windows bring in natural light through cocktail hour, and the chandeliers carry the warmth into the evening. The neutral interior palette works with any design direction, and the dance floor sits at the center of the room. Other reception spaces include Windsong Fountain Lawn, a grassy area with a large capacity for over 500 guests, several traditional ballrooms, and Four Flamingos, a Michelin-recommended tropical fine dining restaurant.
What Makes Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress Photos So Beautiful
Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress Resort is one of my favorite hotel wedding venues in all of Central Florida because it has a little bit of everything. The gorgeous outdoor spaces have a lush, tropical feeling that only Florida can give you. The resort grounds offer vibrant landscaping, stone hardscaping, open lawns, and architectural framing in multiple directions, so your ceremony, cocktail hour, and portrait time have genuine variety built into the property itself. The reception spaces also offer a variety of elegant styles. Inside La Coquina, the floor-to-ceiling windows mean reception coverage early in the evening is bathed in natural light. The chandeliers add warmth and dimension to every frame as the evening shifts. Four Flamingos feels like you’re in the Caribbean, and the Windsong Fountain Lawn can be transformed for any vision.
For couples who feel nervous in front of the camera, working through multiple distinct locations throughout the day naturally helps. Each new space gives you something different to respond to, and that keeps portraits feeling relaxed rather than posed. Helping my couples feel supported and natural is one of the things I love most about my work as an Orlando wedding photographer.
Cameryn & Charles: Getting Ready at Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress
Cameryn got ready in the resort suite alongside her mom and closest friends. She wore a sparkling Martina Liana gown with detached sleeves, intricate lace details, and a fitted silhouette. Her invitation suite, classic black script on ivory with gold border detailing, was styled with pearl scatter, white ranunculus, white roses, and a bottle of Miss Dior.
Charles got ready in a separate suite in his classic black tuxedo from The Black Tux with a single white bloom boutonniere. The guys brought a relaxed, fun energy to the morning. The girls, dressed in sage green gowns, were sweet, supportive, and attentive to every detail. Both sides were ready to celebrate. After everyone was dressed, Cameryn had a sweet first look with her bridesmaids and her dad on the rooftop.
The Private Vow Exchange & First Touch
Before the ceremony, Cameryn and Charles shared a private vow exchange on the Portico Terrace without seeing each other. Their personalities complement each other beautifully, bringing a youthful energy to every interaction while still carrying a sense of sophistication and intention. During his vows, Charles shared that throughout different stages of his life, elementary school, middle school, high school, and college, he had imagined what his future wife might be like. He told Cameryn that every version of the woman he had hoped for eventually came together in her. It was one of the sweetest and most heartfelt things I have ever heard during a vow exchange.
The Ceremony at Cypress Point
The ceremony at Cypress Point took place beneath the white-draped open-air canopy, overlooking the lake. This is a magical ceremony location because the soft ceiling drapery elevates the space while blocking the harsh afternoon light so that guests (and my camera) have a perfect view of the couple while they say their vows. Floral columns of white roses and baby’s breath surrounded Cameryn and Charles, and white blooms with trailing ribbons lined the chair ends along the aisle. It was clear how much everyone around them cared, and this ceremony reflected the steady, genuine love Cameryn and Charles share.
Outdoor Portraits Around the Resort
After the ceremony, we wandered through the resort grounds for portraits. The tropical gardens, open lawn, and stone pathways gave the session real variety, and the Florida January afternoon light is my favorite to photograph in because it’s warm, directional, and long. Charles and Cameryn’s wedding party looked incredible in black and sage green tones against the lush colors around the Grand Cypress property.
Charles is devoted. The way he looked at Cameryn throughout portraits was completely natural and completely genuine, and that comes through in the images. She is radiant, and together they made the portrait session feel easy. And those veil shots? I can’t stop thinking about them!
Reception in La Coquina
La Coquina was set with ivory linens, gold chargers, and simple white floral centerpieces for Charles and Cameryn’s reception. The floor-to-ceiling windows carried natural light well into cocktail hour before the chandeliers took over through dinner. One of my favorite details was the four-tier white wedding cake positioned beside the grand piano for the cake cutting, and they also incorporated a champagne tower. Both of those moments produced some of the most chic and stylish images of the evening.
The wedding party entrance came with money guns and serious energy. The first dance included an epic lift, and the mother-son dance was a Michael Jackson tribute, fun and personal and completely theirs. The dance floor stayed packed all night and every part of the evening felt joyful, welcoming, and full of genuine connection, all the way to their sparkler exit.
