Skylar and Brittney planned a spring wedding at The Howey Mansion that felt romantic, elevated, and effortless—stylish, full of energy, and packed with intentional details from start to finish. Their celebration took place at this incredible historic estate in Howey-in-the-Hills, Florida, just outside of Orlando near Lake Apopka.
I met them through their planner Danielle (always such an honor), and from the beginning Brittney had a clear vision: she wanted light-filled imagery, statement portraits, and a day that felt polished without losing the fun, playful connection she and Skylar share. As their Orlando wedding photographer at Jennifer Holly Photography, I took time to listen closely, answer every question, and get clear on what mattered most to them—so they felt comfortable, secure, and fully supported heading into the wedding day.
The Howey Mansion is a historic estate wedding venue that leans into the beauty of its history. It’s a restored 1920s-era property with Mediterranean Revival architecture, vintage interior details, and multiple spaces that transition beautifully from daytime light to after-dark celebration. The mansion sits on more than four acres of beautiful grounds that make your wedding day timeline flow easily with picture-perfect moments at every step.
Couples can get ready in the upstairs suites before gathering for the ceremony on the Historic Terrace and moving into the ballroom for cocktails. Then the party can move outside for dinner under the stars in the Fountain Courtyard or on the Front Lawn before returning to the ballroom for dancing. And don’t forget sneaking down for a private moment in the Prohibition Vault when you want a moment of calm with your new spouse. This Florida mansion venue is a dream for couples who want their day to feel elevated but not chaotic.

If you’re choosing Howey Mansion in Florida for the history and old-world feel, you’re in good company—Skylar and Brittney picked it for exactly that reason. This estate wedding venue includes a 24-room mansion designed with Mediterranean Revival architecture, a broad manicured lawn with a sweeping horseshoe drive, and rose-colored stucco walls that have softened with time. Those warm tones show up again later in the day in the Fountain Courtyard, which is why this venue photographs so cohesively from one part of the property to another.

One of the first features guests experience when they step inside The Howey Mansion is the foyer’s curving grand staircase and dome ceiling. That kind of interior architecture is perfect for wedding days because you can build portraits that feel editorial even before you step outside—especially for couples like Brittney and Skylar who want images full of light and clean lines. I love capturing love stories at venues like The Howey Mansion. Take a look at my curated list of the best historic estate wedding venues in Central Florida here.

The Howey Mansion is set up for a full-day story, starting with getting ready in the upstairs suites. For Brittney, the morning began with the girls getting ready in Mrs. Howey’s room, which has vintage detail that immediately matches the tone of an estate wedding. The girls wore silky robes, popped champagne, and let the day feel celebratory right away. Amy from Unplugged Bride was there capturing content and helping the girls create fun TikToks—those behind-the-scenes moments that couples love having in their memories, even if they never end up posting them.
And the color story created a stunning vibe: Brittney wanted sunset energy, so the bridesmaids wore warm tones that coordinated perfectly with the peachy spring florals with dusty blue accents. Brittney’s strapless corseted gown brought in that modern bridal structure that photographs so cleanly against historic interiors.

If you’re searching for a Central Florida mansion wedding venue where the ceremony setting already feels like a statement, this is where The Howey Mansion shines. Skylar and Brittney’s ceremony took place on the Historic Terrace in front of the mansion so the architecture could do what it does best—frame the moment. It was a sunny, glowing afternoon, and that light is part of why Howey Mansion photos have such a romantic feel: you get strong lines and structure from the building, softened by warm Florida light.
Before Brittney walked down the aisle, she and Skylar chose to do a first touch instead of a first look, which was sweet, meaningful, and quietly emotional without pulling them away from the rhythm of the day. Brittney also took a moment alone inside the library beforehand, which led to one of the most striking portraits of the day—calm, intentional, and very her.

After the ceremony, Skylar and Brittney slipped back into the library together for a private moment—just the two of them, decompressing, laughing, soaking it in. Then we moved onto the lawn for more portraits. This part of the day gave us some of my favorite images, including their under-the-veil portraits—timeless, romantic, and intentionally composed while still feeling real. If you’re planning a Howey Mansion wedding, I always recommend building in portrait time that isn’t rushed. The property has so many pockets of beauty, and the difference shows in your final gallery.

The reception space in the Fountain Courtyard is one of the reasons couples choose The Howey Mansion wedding experience. The Orlando area has the most beautiful outdoor wedding venues, and this is definitely one of them! This Mediterranean Revival gem has incredible rose-colored stucco walls and antique stone columns and archways—details that make you feel like you’re in Europe without leaving Central Florida.
This is also where Brittney and Skylar’s sunset palette felt the most intentional. Warm bridesmaid tones and spring florals echoed the venue’s natural color story, so everything looked cohesive. The energy stayed high all night—meaningful dances, cake cutting, and a dance floor that never lost momentum.

One of the most unique features at Howey Mansion in Florida is the Prohibition Vault, which Skylar and Brittney used as the closing chapter of their day. We didn’t just treat it like a quick stop. We created a storyline—something moodier and more cinematic to contrast the bright, airy feel earlier in the day. It gave their gallery a second aesthetic without changing locations, and it’s one of my favorite ways to end a wedding day at this historic estate wedding venue. You can simply sneak down for a private moment, or you can even get the full Prohibition Vault Experience which includes a bartender and drinks for the two of you. If you want to add a luxe, intimate touch to your wedding at The Howey Mansion, be sure to include this in your plans.
